When Should My Child First Visit the Dentist?
We recommend your child's first dental visit by the age of 12 months, or when their first tooth appears. Early visits help us detect any concerns early, provide guidance on teething and diet, and most importantly, help your child become familiar with the dental environment before any treatment is ever needed.

Dr Angel Babu holds a DClinDent in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Otago and previously served as a Senior Dental Registrar at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne. Dr Babu has special interests in behaviour management, dental trauma, hypomineralisation (chalky teeth), high caries risk, and children with complex medical needs. At our Caroline Springs practice, Dr Babu can provide treatment under general anaesthesia or oral sedation for children who need extra support - offering a complete pathway from routine care to specialist intervention under one roof. For children with significant dental anxiety, complex needs, or requiring multiple treatments, general anaesthesia is available through our specialist pathway - so no child needs to go without necessary dental care.
Child Dental Benefits Schedule - Bulk Billing
Core Dental Caroline Springs bulk bills eligible children under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). Children aged 2 to 17 from families receiving eligible Australian Government payments may access up to $1,026 in dental benefits over a two-year period, covering examinations, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, and extractions.
